2006 TDL Musician of the Year

Available July 1st, 2006 Ken Tizzard's Debut Solo CD
"Quiet Storey House...an introduction." Hang out and listen to some samples from the new CD and
don't forget to drop Ken some feedback or leave a message on the message board.
"Quiet Storey House...an introduction." is Ken Tizzard's first solo CD. With Ken's primary passion
being the bass guitar it took him some time to discover the unique sonic textures that he would use to create music using
the bass as a primary accompaniment. Finally after an intensive period of exploration and discovery Ken's music is now available.
I am working on getting set up with CD BABY for those of you outside of Canada. Otherwise the shipping is
killer. Hopefully this will be up this week. Sorry for the delay.
KEN TIZZARD, Bassist Ken has dedicated his life to creating and playing music.
As a bassist, he has toured with bands such as Thornley, The Watchmen and
Audio Playground High + Wide. A few years back Ken released his first solo cd under the name Shadrak.
The initial run sold out immediatly and with the oncoming Thornley tour Ken decided to move all the songs to a free website
where the songs were immediatly downloaded by people around the world. For a time Ken delved
into the world of electronica and began djing under the moniker DJ Obscene. During this time remixing became
a passion and he spent a lot of time in his private ProTools studio remixing various projects, including a remix for France'sTelePopMusik.
During the period between the Watchmen and Thornley I went through some strange times.
I was changing everything in my life and found myslef with a desperate need to do something creative and alone. Hence - SHADRAK.
This was a little project which I worked on in the winter of 2000. I set up a small ProTools studio
at home and spent every free evening writing and recording in my little living room studio. I had no intentions, at the time,
of doing a full on solo project but as the songs became actual listenable music and people began hearing it I was encouraged
(thanks Byron) to release it on my own. I built my own website and did a small Flash video for one of the songs (Happy Endings).
I ran off a limited run of a few hundred cds and put the site up. In a very short while all of the cd's were sold and there
was an increasing demand for more. I decided to change the website to make all the music free and downloadable. To this day
I still get e-mail from people around the world thanking me for these offerings.
It was a strange and wonderful time for me and I thank once again everybody who helped me through this.
Ken is currently playing smaller venues in Canada. Go out and support this wonderful musician.
